South Korea, Mongolia Sign $230M Agreement on Cancer Center, Expand Economic Cooperation on July 9

According to Yonhapnews, on July 9, South Korea's Vice Premier and Finance Minister met with Mongolian government officials in Ulaanbaatar to advance economic cooperation. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on Mongolia's second national cancer center, a 400-bed specialized hospital project with an estimated EDCF (Economic Development Cooperation Fund) of $230 million, focused on cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, education, and research. The meetings also covered strategic cooperation in critical mineral supply chains, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and healthcare, with both countries agreeing to establish a deputy premier-level hotline for communication.
