South Korea to Develop Security-Specialized AI Model by Year-End, Deputy PM Announces on July 16

According to Yonhap Infomax, on July 16, South Korea's Deputy Prime Minister and Science and Technology Minister Bae Kyung-hoon announced plans to develop a security-specialized AI model by the end of 2026 by adding security-related training data to South Korea's domestically developed AI model. Bae emphasized that the country also needs to develop advanced frontier models to address cyber threats effectively. He noted that South Korea should not remain vulnerable by depending solely on overseas AI models.
