South Korean Retail Investors Buy $4.54B in Single-Stock Leveraged ETFs on July 24 After 4-Day Selloff

According to Korea Exchange and Koscom CHECK, individual investors reversed course on July 24, pouring 454 billion Korean won into single-stock leveraged ETFs after dumping approximately 547 billion won over the previous four trading days (July 21-23). The buying spree on July 24 alone nearly offset the four-day selling streak, with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix leveraged products accounting for the bulk of purchases. The move came as both stocks tumbled 7-8% that day, dragging leveraged products down 15-16%, while regulatory changes requiring higher deposit thresholds are set to take effect on July 31.
