South Korea's Insurance Development Council Appoints Finance Ministry Official as Director

According to Yonhapinfomax, the Insurance Development Institute appointed Ryu Jae-hoon, former director of South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC), as its new director on July 20, while the Korea Insurance Brokers Association named Song Jae-geun, a former FSC audit official, as executive vice president. The moves mark a shift in recruitment patterns, as posts historically held by officials from the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) increasingly go to FSC-backed candidates. FSS alumni have faced intensified competition for private sector positions due to stricter ethics review processes.
