According to South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT, the government held a meeting on July 23 with CEOs of SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+ to discuss AI-era network investments and stabilize household finances. The three telecom companies presented future network strategies, including 6G technology, AI-based autonomous networks, and expanded submarine cable capacity. The government and carriers agreed to establish a public-private council in August to review network investment promotion and telecommunications regulatory improvements, with results to be announced by year-end. The carriers also committed to expanding membership discounts and subsidized plans for youth and vulnerable populations.
