Spot Gold Rallies to $4,080 on Haven Demand Despite Rising Yields, Up 1.83% on Tuesday

According to Kitco NewsWire, spot gold rallied to $4,080.20 per ounce, up 1.83%, during late-afternoon U.S. trading on Tuesday, while spot silver rose 4.29% to $58.70. Short covering and renewed haven demand lifted both metals despite headwinds from rising Treasury yields, a firmer U.S. dollar and higher crude oil prices tied to escalating U.S.-Iran military activity near the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude settled at $91.01 a barrel and WTI closed at $84.91.
