According to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the Trump administration committed over $5 billion to expand the Genesis Mission on Wednesday, bringing together more than 15 federal agencies to accelerate scientific discovery through AI in healthcare, semiconductors, quantum computing and other fields.
The initiative, announced by White House Director of Science and Technology Policy Michael Kratsios, aims to double U.S. research and development output while translating scientific breakthroughs into practical benefits more quickly. The Genesis Mission will provide researchers with shared access to government datasets, computing resources and AI tools through the Department of Energy's American Science and Security Platform. Additional announcements on industry partnerships and international collaboration are expected in the coming months.
