Trump Media Plans Truth API Data Feed for Wall Street at $100,000 Monthly, Draws Ethics Backlash

According to people familiar with the matter, Trump Media & Technology Group is seeking to charge institutional clients as much as $100,000 per month for faster access to posts on Truth Social through a product called Truth API. The company has also proposed a discounted plan of $60,000 monthly for three-year subscriptions. The paid data feed is designed to deliver posts from ten influential Truth Social accounts faster than standard push notifications, with an August 1 launch date planned.

The proposal has drawn criticism from Democratic lawmakers and ethics watchdogs. U.S. Senator Ron Wyden called the arrangement a scheme to "make Wall Street traders rich," while Senator Elizabeth Warren termed it "an egregious scheme to profit off the presidency." Donald Sherman, president of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, called the arrangement "wildly unethical" because President Trump remains financially tied to Trump Media through a trust controlling approximately 114.75 million company shares, or about 41% of outstanding stock. Experts noted the arrangement raises questions about whether a sitting president's communications should be packaged as premium market data.
