According to a recent report by TS Lombard cited by Business Insider on July 22, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix' performance improvements are heavily dependent on rising memory prices. The analysis noted that in 2026, approximately 55-70% of revenue growth for Samsung Memory, SK Hynix, and Micron stems from memory price increases, while TSMC and Japanese semiconductor equipment makers derive only 15-25% of growth from pricing effects, with manufacturing competitiveness driving their gains. TS Lombard warned that the memory chip industry's structural vulnerability means companies benefit from price surges during supply shortages but face rapid margin compression as supply expands.
