UK Police Investigate £500,000 in Reform UK Donations in February 2025 Probe

According to London's Metropolitan Police, British police are investigating at least £500,000 in donations to Nigel Farage's Reform UK party made before the 2024 general election. The investigation was launched in February 2025 after a referral by the Electoral Commission and centers on donations reportedly made by the mother of George Cottrell, a close political ally of Farage. Police said the investigation relates to potential offences under political party donation laws, including concealing funding sources or providing false information to party treasurers. Two people have been questioned but no arrests have been made.
