U.S. 10-Year TIPS Auction Yield Hits 2.438% on July 23, Highest Since October 2008

According to the U.S. Treasury, the 10-year Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) auction held on July 23 settled at a yield of 2.438%, up 26.9 basis points from May's 2.169% and marking the highest level since October 2008. The bid-to-cover ratio declined to 2.30 times from the previous auction's 2.52 times, falling below the three-meeting average of 2.46 times, indicating weaker-than-expected demand.
