U.S. Allocates $500 Million to SandboxAQ for Semiconductor Materials R&D on June 17

According to BlockBeats, the U.S. government allocated $500 million to SandboxAQ on June 17 under the CHIPS Act to develop new chemical compounds and materials required for domestic semiconductor manufacturing, including replacements for PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).

SandboxAQ, which counts Nvidia as a major backer, was valued at $5.75 billion as of April 2025 and has raised over $1 billion to date.
