U.S. Biotech Firm Axiom Biosciences to List in Hong Kong First in 2027, Citing Asia's Growing Biotech Hub Appeal

According to CNBC, Axiom Biosciences, a San Diego-based developer of regenerative and genetic medicines, plans to go public in Hong Kong in 2027, followed by a secondary U.S. listing in 2029. CEO Remo Moomiaie-Qajar said the move will access sophisticated biotech-focused investors and bring the company closer to clinical partners across Asia. Hong Kong's biotech exchange has become increasingly attractive, with the Hang Seng Biotech Index climbing over 75% since January 2025, outpacing the roughly 40%–50% gains in comparable U.S. indices, according to LSEG data. Axiom is co-developing a therapy with South Korea's Medinno for newborns with severe brain injuries, which has completed a Phase 1 trial.
