U.S. Federal Judge Blocks Trump's Mail-in Voting Order on June 25

According to Jin10, U.S. federal judge Indira Talwani blocked President Trump's executive order restricting mail-in voting on June 25, preventing it from taking effect before the November election that determines control of Congress. The judge sided with a coalition of Democratic-led states, which argued Trump was attempting to illegally interfere with state management of federal elections. The judge ruled that the president has no authority to compile state voter rolls, and the U.S. Postal Service has no legal authorization to establish binding mail-in voting regulations. Under the U.S. Constitution, responsibility for managing federal elections rests with the states.
