According to CNBC, U.S. stock index futures fell sharply on Friday (June 26) as reports of OpenAI delaying its IPO to 2027 triggered broad market weakness. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 1.2%, S&P 500 futures dropped 0.5%, and Dow Jones futures fell 67 points (-0.1%). The tech and semiconductor sectors led losses, with ON Semiconductor falling over 13% on acquisition concerns, Micron Technology and SanDisk each declining over 5%. Tracking fund XLK, which follows tech stocks, fell 1.6%. The IPO delay reports have reinforced investor concerns about the pace of AI infrastructure investments.
