According to t54, the company behind the XRPL x402 Facilitator, XRP Ledger now supports Mastercard's Verifiable Intent standard, adding cryptographic authorization and pre-settlement risk checks to AI-initiated payments. The integration enables developers to attach verifiable proof of authorization to autonomous transactions, verifying who approved the payment, spending limits, and the exact purchase authorized. Credentials are processed through the x402 Facilitator and routed to Trustline's risk engine before settlement. The system uses three-tier Selective Disclosure JSON Web Token (SD-JWT) credentials to verify authorization details, giving AI agents machine-verifiable credentials instead of relying solely on wallet ownership. RippleX projects agentic transactions on XRPL could grow from approximately one million today to between 10 million and 100 million over the coming years.
