According to a statement from Yemen's Armed Forces released on July 20, the Houthi movement announced a maritime navigation ban on Saudi Arabia in response to what it described as unjust blockades and aggression. The statement cited a twelve-year Saudi-imposed blockade on Yemen's ports, airports, and land crossings, characterizing it as causing immense humanitarian suffering. The Houthis also accused Saudi Arabia of recent attacks on Sanaa International Airport.
