Iranian parliament passes Strait of Hormuz toll bill, banning U.S.-Israeli vessels from transiting

Gate News message, March 31, the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee approved a bill to impose fees on vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The bill includes the following: implementing financial arrangements and a tolling system in the form of Iranian rials; banning U.S. and Israeli ships from transiting the Strait of Hormuz; maintaining Iran and its armed forces’ dominant position; prohibiting states that participate in unilateral sanctions against Iran from transiting; Iran will cooperate with Oman to develop the relevant legal framework.
