Le géant du paiement Stripe annonce le lancement d’une offre publique d’achat, permettant aux employés actuels et anciens de vendre leurs actions, la valorisation de l’entreprise atteignant 159 milliards de dollars. En 2025, le volume total des activités de la plateforme Stripe atteindra 1,9 billion de dollars, en hausse de 34 %.
Le secteur des stablecoins devient un point fort. La plateforme de stablecoins qu’elle exploite, Bridge, a vu son volume de transactions quadrupler l’année dernière. La semaine dernière, Stripe a également obtenu une licence de fiducie bancaire nationale de l’OCC pour étendre ses activités de stablecoins. Dans leur lettre annuelle, les cofondateurs John et Patrick Collison ont indiqué qu’après un rapport de McKinsey, le volume de paiements en stablecoins a doublé l’année dernière pour atteindre environ 390 milliards de dollars, qualifiant la situation actuelle de « hiver cryptographique » et de « été des stablecoins ».
De plus, la blockchain exclusive aux stablecoins, Tempo, développée conjointement par Stripe et Paradigm, est toujours en phase de test. Visa, Nubank et Shopify participent aux tests, et le réseau principal devrait être lancé prochainement.
