According to AMD at its Advancing AI 2026 conference on July 23, the company unveiled its sixth-generation EPYC Venice CPU and MI455X GPU, both built on 2-nanometer process, along with the Helios rack-scale AI system. Venice achieves approximately 2x higher throughput and 1.3x single-core performance compared to Intel's Xeon 6980P. The MI455X GPU delivers 4x higher peak performance in MXFP4/MXFP8 formats versus the previous MI355X, with 432GB HBM4 memory and 23.3 TB/s bandwidth. The Helios rack system features 72 GPUs and 18 Venice CPUs per cabinet, consuming 225-245kW, with an estimated price of $5-5.5 million and shipment expected in Q3. Customers confirmed to deploy Helios include OpenAI, Meta, Anthropic, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle.
