According to Foresight News, China's central bank vice governor Zhang Changshi announced that the country convicted over 2,000 money laundering cases under Article 191 of the Criminal Law in 2025. The People's Bank of China said it strengthened enforcement against professional money laundering, virtual currency laundering, and cross-border laundering activities. Criminal syndicates exploit regulatory differences across jurisdictions, using methods including shell accounts, fund matching, and virtual currencies to obscure fund flows.
