In early trading today (July 28), European major indices opened higher. Europe's Stoxx 50 rose 0.33%, Germany's DAX gained 0.29%, France's CAC 40 increased 0.63%, and the UK's FTSE 100 edged up 0.05%.

Meanwhile, European chip stocks declined, with ASML, BE Semiconductor, STMicroelectronics, and Infineon each falling 2 to 3%.
