According to Google, the company released Nano Banana 2 Lite, a new image-generation model in the Gemini 3.1 family, today. The model creates images in approximately 4 seconds, compared to about 20 seconds for the standard Nano Banana version, offering a significant speed advantage for rapid prototyping and exploration.

Developers accessing the model via API will pay $0.034 per 1,000 images, roughly half the rate of Nano Banana 2. Token pricing is set at $0.25 per 1M input tokens and $1.50 per 1M output tokens, designed to prioritize cost efficiency over maximum quality.
