JD.com Plans to Replace 700,000 Delivery Staff With Robots, Partners With 120 Schools on July 5

According to BlockBeats citing Serenity, on July 5, JD.com founder Richard Liu revealed plans to gradually replace approximately 700,000 delivery personnel with robots. The company has signed cooperation agreements with about 120 schools to retrain delivery staff for roles in robot maintenance and repair.

Serenity noted this approach aligns with Amazon's earlier commitment to reduce approximately 600,000 future hiring needs through robotics, indicating accelerating commercial deployment of robots in logistics and a shift in workforce structure from manual delivery to robot operations.
