According to The Fact, Macquarie Asset Management's SPC, DCK Investments, has launched a tender offer to acquire remaining 73.1% of outstanding shares in KOSDAQ-listed Gavia at 48,000 Korean won per share, with the offer deadline set for September 17. The maximum transaction value reaches 627.6 billion won, reflecting a 41.6% premium over the previous closing price. Macquarie had previously acquired 24.4% stake from founder Kim Hong-guk and related parties for approximately 157 billion won. If the minimum 24.3% threshold is met, Macquarie plans to delist the company.
Separately, OSSTEM Implant, acquired by MBK Partners and UCK Partners in 2023 for approximately 2.5 trillion won, faces organizational restructuring disputes. Some employees claim the personnel reassignment and job transition measures constitute de facto layoffs, while the company maintains the changes are ordinary organizational optimization to enhance global competitiveness. MBK and UCK partners denied allegations of disadvantaging pregnant employees and parental leave returnees, stating all procedures comply with applicable labor laws.
