Major County Sheriffs' Association Shifts Stance on CLARITY Act to Neutral on July 5

According to BlockBeats, on July 5, the Major County Sheriffs' Association (MCSA) shifted its position on the CLARITY Act from opposition to neutral. The organization stated in a letter to Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott and Senator Elizabeth Warren that its concerns regarding Section 604 have been partly addressed. MCSA previously warned that the provision could weaken enforcement capabilities against illegal financial activities involving crypto assets. The organization continues to urge the inclusion of local law enforcement agencies in future coordination mechanisms to enhance digital asset crime investigation capacity.
