According to the FBI, eight malware-infected downloadable games infected approximately 8,000 devices and compromised about 80 cryptocurrency wallets, with at least $220,000 in digital assets transferred, court documents revealed. The campaign ran from May 2024 through February 2026. A 21-year-old Florida resident, Zyaire Dontaevious Zamarion Wilkins, was charged with conspiracy to obtain computer information for private economic gain, facing up to 10 years in prison. The malware collected passwords, wallet credentials, browser data, and other sensitive information. Discord, Telegram, X, and LinkedIn were used to promote the games, with automated bots targeting users holding large cryptocurrency amounts.
