Metallurgical Coke Surges 450+ Yuan/Ton Cumulatively; 10th Price Hike Underway as Steel Mills Show Resistance

According to Huaxia Times, major steel mills in Shandong and multiple regions in Tianjin and Hebei raised metallurgical coke procurement prices on July 4. Wet-quenched coke increased CNY 50/ton and dry-quenched coke rose CNY 55/ton across all regions. After the adjustment, Grade-A wet-quenched coke settled at CNY 1,845/ton and Grade-A dry-quenched coke at CNY 2,135/ton. Liu Lulu, coal analyst at Zhuochuang Intelligence, told reporters that since late March, coke prices have entered a continuous rally, with the 10th round of price increases now underway and nine rounds already implemented, accumulating a total increase of CNY 450-515/ton. The analyst expects the current round to face greater difficulty in landing across the market.
