According to Nokia, the company signed a 5G network expansion agreement with Taiwan Mobile on July 14 to upgrade the telecom operator's infrastructure with AirScale hardware and AI-driven software. The deployment will enhance network performance, automation, and energy efficiency while adding support for new 5G services including network slicing and RedCap—a lower-power feature designed for wearables, sensors, and trackers. The agreement extends Nokia's relationship as Taiwan Mobile's sole 5G network supplier since June 2020.
