South Korean Companies' FDI to U.S. Hits $10.2 Billion in Q1, Five-Year High

According to South Korea's Finance Ministry, the country's foreign direct investment (FDI) to the U.S. reached $10.2 billion in the first quarter of 2026, more than doubling year-over-year and marking a five-year high. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, among other AI infrastructure beneficiaries, are accelerating expansion in the U.S. AI sector, with Samsung participating in funding rounds for AI cooling company ZutaCore and AI chip firm Groq, while SK Hynix plans to invest $10 billion in U.S. innovation ventures.
