South Korea's KOSPI Surges 113.1% in Year Since Commercial Act Revision

According to The Fact, South Korea's KOSPI index rose 113.1% in the year since the Commercial Act revision took effect in July 2025, expanding directors' fiduciary duties to shareholders. The Lee Jae-myung government has undertaken three rounds of Commercial Act amendments to improve corporate governance and advance capital market modernization. The government plans to include a stock price-suppression prevention law in next year's tax reform package.
