South Korea's Policy Committee Chair Calls Digital Asset Legislation a Priority Issue

On July 6, Democratic Party Policy Committee Chair Ryu Dong-soo said digital asset legislation should be treated as a priority issue requiring deeper discussion. During the committee's first full session of the latter half, Ryu stated that the Digital Asset Basic Law, capital market volatility, exploitative business practices, and small business owner protection were critical matters demanding in-depth attention.

Democratic Party member Lee Gang-il noted that digital asset legislation has been under discussion for an extended period but was not passed in the previous committee session. Lee emphasized that market sentiment has shifted from anticipation to disappointment, requiring efforts to rebuild momentum.
