SpaceXAI released Grok 4.5 on July 8 at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, less than half the price of Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.8 and OpenAI's GPT 5.6. According to Elon Musk's post on X, the model is "roughly comparable to Opus 4.7, but much faster," positioning it as a cost and speed-focused alternative rather than a frontier performance leader. Grok 4.5 is not yet available in the EU; SpaceXAI expects European access in mid-July.
