U.S. Authorities Arrest 21-Year-Old Over $220,000 Cryptocurrency Theft Via Video Game Malware

According to Decrypt, U.S. federal agents arrested 21-year-old Zyaire Wilkins of North Lauderdale, Florida on July 16, charging him with concealing cryptocurrency-stealing malware in online video games. Between May 2024 and February 2026, the scheme compromised approximately 8,000 devices and breached about 80 cryptocurrency wallets, resulting in at least $220,000 in stolen funds. Wilkins faces conspiracy charges related to unauthorized computer access for personal gain, with a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment.
