U.S. stock indices opened higher on July 9, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.08%, S&P 500 up 0.2%, and Nasdaq up 0.2%. Semiconductor and tech-related stocks led gains, with SanDisk and Micron Technology rising over 6%, Corning up over 8%, and Marvell Technology up over 6%.

Major tech stocks declined, with META down 4.3% (largest drop since July 2), IBM down 5.8%, and Microsoft down 2.6%, following reports that Starbucks is reducing reliance on Microsoft and IBM software through AI. PepsiCo fell 4.6%, marking its largest decline since April 2025.
