Vertex Pharmaceuticals Acquires Crinetics for $10 Billion, Expanding Endocrinology Portfolio

According to Vertex Pharmaceuticals' announcement, Vertex agreed to acquire Crinetics Pharmaceuticals for $10 billion in cash in Q3 2026. The deal values Crinetics at $8.8 billion excluding cash consideration. Each share is priced at $85, representing a 102% premium to Crinetics' Monday closing price. The acquisition aims to expand Vertex's endocrinology business with treatments for acromegaly and hormonal disorders. Both boards have approved the transaction, and Vertex expects the deal to be accretive to adjusted operating income by 2029.
