#特朗普称美伊正敲定协议细节 US media reported on the 20th that countries such as Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt are recently promoting a US-Iran peace memorandum. This plan hopes that both sides can sign a letter of intent to officially end the war and initiate a new 30-day round of negotiations. The topics of negotiation include Iran's nuclear program, passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and how to release frozen Iranian funds.
The report stated that upon learning of this proposal, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was "very cautious" and immediately had a "long and difficult" phone call with U.S. President Trump. The two sides showed clear differences on the next steps regarding Iran.
A White House source revealed that Netanyahu expressed strong dissatisfaction with the plan, believing that Iran should not be given so much time for negotiations, and that military actions should be quickly resumed to further weaken Iran's military capabilities and target Iran's critical infrastructure. The source also said that Netanyahu appeared very anxious and hoped to visit Washington as soon as possible within a few weeks to meet face-to-face with Trump, in an effort to change the U.S. stance.
Meanwhile, Trump still leans toward leaving room for diplomatic negotiations. He stated that the U.S. and Iran are currently on the verge of "reaching an agreement" or "resuming war." If negotiations fail to achieve the desired results, the U.S. might quickly restart military actions. U.S. media analysts believe that although Trump and Netanyahu publicly maintain coordination on Iran issues, they have already shown clear differences on whether to continue applying pressure through negotiations or to resume military strikes.
