The international precious metals market remains hot at year-end, with spot silver prices continuing to climb and setting new records for several consecutive days, becoming the biggest highlight of the 2025 commodity market. On December 27, spot silver prices broke through $76 per ounce again, reaching a new all-time high with an increase of 160% year-to-date; the main and near-month contracts on NY COMEX also performed strongly, soaring 7% intraday and again hitting new record highs.

Silver rises to become the third-largest asset globally
As silver prices repeatedly hit new highs, its total global market value has surpassed $4.2 trillion, approaching $4.3 trillion, overtaking tech giant Apple (market cap around $4.076 trillion), and rising to the third-largest asset worldwide, behind gold (about $31 trillion) and NVIDIA (about $4.6 trillion).

Analyst: Gold and silver still have room to rise next year
The main reasons for silver’s strong rally this year include several factors: First, the global supply-demand structural imbalance continues to widen, with an estimated silver deficit of over 200 million ounces in 2025, and inventories remaining tight; second, explosive growth in industrial demand, with significant increases in silver use in photovoltaic solar, electric vehicles, AI data centers, and semiconductors; additionally, expectations of Fed rate cuts, geopolitical tensions, a weakening dollar, and silver being added to the US critical minerals list have attracted substantial investment and safe-haven capital inflows.
Since the beginning of the year, silver has risen from about $30, with a cumulative increase of over 160%. Although gold’s 80% rise is equally impressive, it still lags behind considerably. In response to the ongoing rise of gold and silver, while Bitcoin continues to retreat, research firm GlobalData’s Director of Economic and Business Research, Ramnivas Mundada, pointed out that this is not merely a safe-haven rally but a deeper structural shift. He believes that the international monetary system is gradually transitioning from a unipolar structure centered on the US dollar to a more multipolar framework. According to his forecast, by 2026, gold prices could still rise by 8% to 15%, while silver could increase by 20% to 35%.
It is also worth noting that Robert Kiyosaki, author of “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” previously made a bold prediction in November that silver would rise to $100 or even higher by 2026. He believes that driven by currency devaluation and industrial demand, silver still has enormous potential.

"Seeking a Sword by Marking a Boat" style coin price predictions go viral: the practical logic and flaws of mystical prophecies
Author: Frank, PANews
Whenever the market enters a confusing phase of stagnation, someone attempts to predict the next trend using a "cutting the cord at the boat" style of historical retrospection method. In such circumstances, people often see from these theories and charts that history is repeating itself, and seem to automatically overlap and verify future market movements with a certain period in the past.
This coincidence appears to have a magical effect and is often verified. Some bloggers claim that the accuracy rate of this type of prediction can reach 75%~80%.
Does this "cutting the cord at the boat" style price prediction that repeatedly goes viral on social media actually help the market identify phases, or is it packaging noise as prophecy?
