According to blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs, HTX has been rotating deposit and hot wallets across TRON, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Solana following UK sanctions imposed in May. The exchange rotates wallets within hours, creating what TRM Labs described as a "continuous moving target" that makes address-list screening ineffective for compliance professionals.
The UK Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation designated Huobi Global S.A., HTX's parent entity, on May 26, citing suspected channeling of over $1.5 billion to support Russia's invasion of Ukraine. HTX told Decrypt the wallet activity reflects "routine, security-driven platform operations common across the industry," rejecting suggestions of sanctions evasion.
