KOSPI Hits Bottom, Hana Securities Targets 11,450 Points Recovery

According to Lee Jae-man, senior analyst at Hana Securities, the KOSPI index has technically hit bottom as of July 13, with a short-term recovery target of 9,240 points and a long-term target of 11,450 points. Lee's forecast is based on historical analysis showing the maximum decline rate since 2023 was 20%, which aligns with current levels, and valuation calculations using 2027 earnings estimates of 946 trillion won with a historical average P/E ratio of 9.96x. The analyst previously accurately predicted the KOSPI's peak in May, when SK Hynix's market cap briefly exceeded Samsung Electronics before the index dropped 20% to 7,291.91 points by July 9.
