Gate News消息，3月14日，马斯克宣布，特斯拉在美国建设的巨型半导体芯片工厂Terafab项目将于7天后启动。
Terafab工厂规模远超传统芯片厂，将逻辑AI芯片、内存和先进封装全部集成在同一设施内生产。该工厂核心目标为每年生产1000亿至2000亿颗芯片，初始产能10万片晶圆/月，最终可扩展至100万片/月，远超台积电、Intel等主流工厂当前产能。
马斯克建设该工厂的初衷是应对特斯拉爆炸式的AI算力需求，为Dojo超级计算机、FSD全自动驾驶、Optimus机器人、Robotaxi车队等项目提供自产芯片，减少对台积电、三星等外部供应商的依赖。
